Leeds:  Leeds University was the venue for our annual conference, a chance for Tibet supporters and campaigners of all ages and levels of experience to meet, exchange ideas and engage with a variety of workshops.

A weekend packed with activities was enjoyed by delegates from universities across the UK, as well as students from the Leeds University Tibet Society. Workshop subjects included Building New Groups, Fundraising and Events, Olympic Campaigning and Non-Violent Direct Action.

SFT Executive Director Lhadon Tethong and Campaigns Director Kate Woznow were present to talk about the Olympics campaign and SFT UK board member Iain Thom and former board member Lucy Fairbrother recounted their amazing experience in Beijing. Kate Saunders from International Campaign for Tibet was also present to deliver a fascinating insight into the human rights situation inside Tibet.

We at SFT UK hope all our fantastic delegates had a great time and are enthused to apply the skills they learned in University groups and inspire even more people of conscience to take up the Tibetan cause.
